How a Quick Wit Led
to the Creation of Qwit

I like to laugh. Especially when I see something that juxtaposes a common idea with something absurd and unexpected. That was the spirit behind Qwit™, a personal business venture centered around a collection of quick-witted greeting cards that explored relationship humor, horror and heartache—all delivered with a knowing smile. Partnering with a talented Graphic Designer, we came up with a handmade collector's pack of 16 cards and a related line of graphic t-shirts. From concept to creation, we had to figure out every aspect of bringing Qwit™ to market—from tracking down the most cost-effective materials to create and print the products to negotiating wholesale deals and building POP stands to sell and display them.

At its height, Qwit™ products could be purchased at several retail stores in Atlanta and L.A., through an online shop and as a line of humorous gift tags for a dessert delivery company. Personally and professionally, it was an invaluable learning experience that has made me a more patient, collaborative and empathetic creative partner to my colleagues and clients. It was also an absolute blast to create.
